Since it’s both the holiday season and my last book profile for 2014, what would be more appropriate to feature than Danielle Lee Zwissler’s A Daddy for Christmas: Holiday Romance (Holiday Romance Collection Book 2) (Firefly & Wisp Books/Midnight Books, 2014)?
I finished this book some time ago, but wanted to spotlight the story of a single mother raising her son alone after losing his father to the war in Afghanistan and a never-married police officer.
The pair meet during a field trip to the police station, followed by twists and turns in this holiday love story.
A Daddy for Christmas is a smooth and easy read with a plot that held my attention from beginning to end. Some may find the “woman meets man, etc.” over-used and worn, but the theme takes on a refreshing pace in this particular book. Call it a Christmas story for grown-ups if you will.
At only .99 cents for its Kindle edition, A Daddy for Christmas is a cheap read that’s entertaining while bringing out many readers’ emotions. Highly recommended as a holiday de-stresser for taking a break from all the rush.
Blog Note: Book of the Week will return in mid to late January 2015. Have a safe, blessed and happy holiday season. Thanks to everyone for supporting this web site!
